The aim of our courses in Clinical Tropical Medicine is to provide knowledge and skills in applied clinical tropical medicine in different hospitals in low- and middle-income countries as Tanzania, India, Brazil and Ethiopia
During ward rounds and excursions to outside hospitals, participants can get an understanding of the variety of diseases in all parts of the health system: Dispensaries, regional hospitals, and private hospitals.
They become familiar with structures of the health system and the government. They learn to recognize risk factors relevant to infectious diseases, get acquainted with preventive measures and health projects and reflect about consequences of illness for patients in a poor environment.
At the end of the module, participants will be able to describe vectors, transmission, clinical aspects, treatment and prevention of major tropical diseases.
